So we analyzed most of functions you may need when using B1 Free Archiver and included well known combinations, which are common for other file managers. A little bit of practice using them and soon you will notice they make your work flow faster. So give it a try with B1 Free Archiver hotkeys.

Where can you find all hotkeys available in B1 Free Archiver?

When you start B1 Free Archiver application, click on “File” in the left upper corner of the window and you’ll see all hotkey combinations by the side of corresponding actions. For example, to create new archive you can either do what is described before or use Ctrl+Alt+A combination.

Create Archive

To create a new archive you need to open B1 Free Archiver app and highlight a folder or a file you want to add to an archive. You can use the keyboard for this as well by navigating files with up and down arrow keys. For that press Ctrl+Alt+A simultaneously.

This will bring you to the dialog window where you further specify what kind of archive you want to create.

Test Archive

Sometimes you may receive or download archives from unreliable services or users and therefore there is a possibility that you can get an archive which is incomplete or broken. In that case you will not be able to open or decompress that archive. For this reason we have a “Test archive” option with which you can check whether the archive is complete. Just highlight the archive and click Ctrl+T to check it.

The program will check your archive for errors and then you will get the message with the check results.

Create a New Folder

To create a new folder within B1 Free Archiver application, hit F7 and enter the name of a new folder.

When you want to customize B1 Free Archiver according to your personal preferences (choose a language, select a default open action, mark the file types you usually use, etc ) enter the Settings panel by pressing Ctrl+Alt+S combination.

To extract files from the archive highlight the archive and press the Ctrl+Shift+E combination.

And the only thing left to do is to select the destination folder to which you want to extract your files and hit the “OK” button.

To see the properties of the archive or any other folder or file, highlight it and press Alt+Return (Alt+Enter).

You’ll see a dialog window, which will show you all the information you may need to know about that certain file or folder.
